April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4 April, 1995. In the seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. At the age of 12, she composed her first single Different. She spent a lot of time at 14 making songs and practicing music. Over the next few months, she began taking writing excursions together with her dad to LA and NY. April was also able to add other themes in the track "Take My Hand" to help her friends who dealt with problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teenage suicide. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing following as a lifestyle influencer as well as a spokesperson for the popular clean beauty company Ilia. Her disability is a part of her persona, however it is not the whole of the picture. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. However, it doesn't emphasize the issue. What's the message? There is more to us than our physical selves. The identities we have are complex and we contain many different elements. Lockhart, via video message sent from her Nashville home, says that I do not want that to be a part of myself. I am more than my physical self. My daily life isn't dependent on it. I go about my regular, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. This is also part of my personality, and that it is something to be talked about. Lockhart who is an motivation for self-acceptance generally and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve it. However, she admits to going through periods of feeling insecure about her physique and being uncomfortable in certain clothes which exposed her arms. She can wear whatever she likes, and is proud to share photos of herself in these outfits. The self-love she talks about is a process. It's not clear whether you'll get to the final stage. This is, however, typical for people with doubts. I think it is important to surround yourself with those who are able to see the person you are.
