Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but fragile characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of today. When she was a child, spending time at the house of her father, she developed an interest in the theater. After studying at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Starting her acting career on the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared in films within two years. She also appeared on TV within a year. Since then, she has appeared appearing in a variety of films, TV productions and stage shows. She has won many awards during her professional career. They include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards, and three Academy Award nominations. But, in spite of her distinctions and awards, theatre is still her passion and she is determined to act on both screen and stage.
